This is a 50th Wedding Anniversary Cake I prepared for two of my dear friends. It was a replica of their original wedding cake. I enjoyed doing it so much because it was for them and their enjoyment.
That’s probably why a lot of folks like to cook and bake and cake decorate…to show others their love. This may sound odd to some of you, but if you are a cook in the Southern United States, I think you know what I mean.
I owe most of my cooking ability to my Mom and Grandmother Copeland. My Mom prepared homemade meals every day that I remember as a child. Sure, we had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches regularly at lunch, but for breakfast and supper there were always grits, eggs, bacon and toast, etc. French toast for breakfast and pancakes were a treat!
For supper it was anything from pork chops and gravy with black eyed peas to roast beef and potatoes. And sooooooo much more!
